Two women culturally dancing

Planning for the Toledo Sister Cities’ Festival is now underway. The Festival celebrates the rich cultural influence of Toledo’s communities with entertainment, food, crafts and souvenirs, and vendors. Given the extra time we’ve had to prepare, we want to make our Oct. 23, 2021 Festival bigger and better than before. This will be the fourth year of holding the Festival at the SeaGate Centre in downtown Toledo. When we get the go signal, we want to be prepared to make it the best yet.
Thanks to the Covid 19 pandemic, we weren’t able to hold our April 2020 Festival. We’re now reaching out to the talented performers, vendors, advertisers, and community partners we spoke with before, along with some new people. We want to improve the international food offerings, have some super international raffle items, and provide great sound quality with a couple of knowledgeable sound system helpers. This year we’re adding an international art exhibit and an area of international crafts for the kids.
Crucial to our task is to assemble a group of good volunteers to help us make this Festival the biggest and best so far. We can use volunteers to help with preparations as well as to help the day of the Festival. Anyone interested in volunteering to help out, please contact Festival director Rogene Kohler at 734-856-2913 or dkohler376@aol.com.
